Amy Wheeler is the Founder of One Source Yoga. She lives a life full of contentment in the mountains of Southern California with her husband and two dogs. Amy's Dharma (life purpose) is to help educate students about yoga and to assist people in using their minds to heal themselves.

Amy has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a Masters Degree in Health Promotion. She feels that her background in psychology and health promotion enhance her ability to do her work. She has also worked as a Sport Psychology Consultant and Yoga Teacher to many elite-level athletes, including the Los Angeles Lakers and five U.S. Olympic/ National Teams.

Amy has been a student of yoga since 1992. She studies and teaches according to the Krishnamacharya Healing Yoga Lineage (KYM/ KHYF). Amy is a student of Kausthub Desikachar and studies regularly with the Desikachar family. She is a KHYF Certified Yoga Teacher, a KHYF Certified Yoga Teacher Trainer and is in the process of becoming a KHYF Certified Yoga Therapist.

The many facets of Amy's work

Amy works full-time at California State University San Bernardino and conducts research on yoga and healing. She is particularly interested in the positive effects of yoga on stress levels and chronic disease.

Amy is the Research Director of the Healing Yoga Foundation in San Francisco, a non-profit organization with the goal of healing through the methods of yoga.
