Mission Statement

Amy’s mission is to provide the highest quality instruction of yoga asana, breathing, meditation and relationship skills to groups and individuals. Amy's fulfills her mission in two primary ways: 1) Yoga education for students who want to advance their knowledge about yoga and/ or want to become Yoga Teachers, 2) Individualized yoga therapy for health, healing and beyond.

1) Amy is a Yoga Educator. She teaches at two prestigious Yoga Teacher-Training Programs and gives daily classes and monthly workshops at Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. Amy spends two days per week educating hundreds of yoga students each year at California State University-San Bernardino. She is also a mentor to yoga students in the process of becoming and growing as yoga teachers. Please see the
"Learning with Amy" page of this web site to gain a deeper understanding of the learning possibilities.

2) Amy is a Yoga Therapist. She believes that she can assist self-motivated individuals in their healing and transformation on the physical, spiritual, mental, emotional and personality levels. Amy provides a variety of yoga tools to assist in the process of healing individuals. These tools include, but are not limited to, yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation techniques, lifestyle changes, dietary changes, counseling by assisting in the process of self-analysis. Many diseases and symptoms are related to stress, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, auto-immune disease and neurological disease. The tools of yoga are perfectly suited to complement primary medicine in the healing process of these diseases. The tools of yoga help us to change lifestyle patterns that may have caused the disease in the first place.

Amy has worked with yoga students on the above mentioned health related challenges as well as: epilepsy, asthma, digestive problems, ALS, chronic fatigue, fibromyalsia, MS, recovery from cancer and cancer treatments, many types of structural problems (knees, low back, neck, scoliosis, kyphosis and lordosis), TMJ, Bells Palsy, and helping to improve memory loss. In the tradition of yoga we never say that we can "cure" an illness, rather we help to manage the symptoms, change lifestlye patterns and we help the student to gain greater acceptance over the life challenge that the student is experiencing.
